Welcome to the Horse & Jockey, Manton
We are a privately owned, traditional country pub on the south shores of Rutland water, located in the beautiful village of Manton on the Rutland water cycling path. The local towns of Oakham and Uppingham are both 10 minutes by car.
Join us for a delicious meal using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The Horse and Jockey prides itself on always exceeding our customers’ expectations. During the winter months the fire burner is lit and we invite you to indulge in timeless classics such as fish and chips and our most popular and loved dish- homemade steak and ale pie with an assortment of carefully selected fine wines and real ales. In the summer we have extensive seating outside and now invite you to stop off for a bite to eat and a refreshing drink in our newly opened roof terrace.
Rutland
Staying true to the motto of Multum in Parvo, Rutland is England's smallest county with a lot to offer. Its picturesque landscapes are home to many fine old churches and houses from the 12th-century and the expansive Rutland Water.
This picture-perfect place attracts plenty of visitors as it offers various activities such as watersports, bicycling, bird watching and more.
The Horse and Jockey is the only pub situated on the Rutland Water Cycle path and is perfectly placed to explore the surrounding area. Our open fires, stone floors and low beams exude all the charm and character that you'd want from a traditional country pub. The Horse and Jockey is popular for being one of the best pubs around Rutland water with its welcoming and warm ambience and very attentive service. Our pub is conveniently located on the Rutland water cycle path, making it easier for our visitors to easily locate us.
