Our Story

The Horse and Jockey is the only pub situated on the Rutland Water Cycle path. You will find us located in the lovely village of Manton on the south shore of Rutland water directly between Oakham and Uppingham. A warm welcome, courtesy of our log burning stove, awaits you (and your dogs) with all the charm and character you would expect with a traditional country pub whether you are cycling, walking, bird watching or just looking for a meal.

The pub prides itself on offering a varied menu including our signature Homemade Steak and Ale pie, award winning steaks and timeless classics such as Fish and Chips. We have an extensive Specials Board and a wide range of local ales.

We offer bike racks and maintenance equipment (puncture repair etc) for our customers and we also have a campsite suitable for caravans or motor homes.
